ICC Profiles

"SOFT PROOFING" your images during the EDITING phase can ensure the final printed product is exactly what you had envisioned.  Here are downloadable links to each of our 5 ICC profiles; one for each of our printer/paper combinations.

You simply DOWNLOAD the file to your hard drive, IMPORT into the ColorSync > Profiles Folder of your computer Library and your editing software should automatically recognize the addition.

Then, while EDITING an image in PHOTOSHOP you simply go to View > Proof Setup > Custom and under "Device to Simulate" dropdown you SELECT the ICC file that corresponds to the "paper type" you plan to print on.  (You will more than likely have MANY other proof options in this dropdown).  CHECK the "simulate paper color" box, then CLICK "OK" and you will see minor changes take shape in your image.  NOTE: You can toggle back and forth between the original image and the Proof by holding "command-Y."

Some paper types may darken or enhance blacks and brighten whites while others may dull blacks, yellow whites, and smooth out details... This is one of the nuances created in transitioning from a Digital Art into a PRINTED Art.

Ultimately, however THE PAPER SHOULD ENHANCE YOUR WORK, NOT DETRACT FROM IT.

If these "changes" due to paper selection detract or alter your work in a negative way you may choose to finesse the image with additional edits to achieve the desired result on a specific paper type OR you can choose a paper type that enhances the image as it already is and limit the need for additional edits.  The choice is yours.
